Course Details
A First Aid course can save lives! Figures show that up to 150,000 lives could be saved each year if there were more people who had completed a First Aid course. Nobody wants to be in a position where they are required to administer First Aid; but sometimes, these situations arise and having the relevant skills can be invaluable.
You may need to do a First Aid course for work purposes, want to learn First Aid techniques for your family, or maybe you just want to develop a new and useful skill. Whatever the reason, a First Aid course could make all the difference when it comes to saving someone's life!
The course applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
This First Aid course is suited to all persons, including:
- Construction workers
- Childcare workers
- Warehouse and manufacturing
- General office environments
- Health and fitness industry workers
- New parents, families and carers
- Sports groups
If organising onsite group training, we can facilitate First Aid course nationally.
Pre-requisites
It is important to note that this First Aid course requires a level of physical ability to complete practical assessments. If your health or fitness restricts you from performing physical activities associated with this program, you will be able to participate but may not be eligible for a nationally accredited certificate.

TCP Training is not registered with CRICOS, as such we are unable to conduct training and assessment for those with study restrictions on their visa. This includes but is not limited to the International Student Visa (subclass 500), you can check the entitlements of your visa here.
This First Aid Course combines plain English, videos, photos, and questioning to ensure all learners are able to have the best possible chance at comprehending the required knowledge and skills. Assessment
Students will be assessed from the pre-study and classroom session. Assessment will confirm knowledge and skills have been achieved to demonstrate competency across the unit.
Students are offered multiple opportunities to demonstrate knowledge and skills throughout the program.
If a student is not successful in completing all assessments satisfactorily, they will need to rebook the First Aid course at the full course fee.
Training Program
There are 4 components to this program:
- Pre-study and assessments
- Theory training in the classroom
- Practical training in the classroom
- General office environments
- Assessment for both knowledge and skills
Students should allow (up to six (6) hours for the pre-study to be completed). If you have completed first aid training in the past, you may be able to complete the pre-study assessments in a shorter timeframe.
Hard copy pre-study is available if requested and can be posted with hard copy manual for an additional $20.
(The classroom session is an 8hr program including breaks.)
If organising a group booking or onsite training, we can facilitate the First Aid course over two days to remove all pre-study training requirements. We also deliver this First Aid course nationally for group bookings.
Use of a Pocket Mask
If you require a certificate to confirm you completed training and use of a pocket mask, please contact our customer service team before booking a First Aid course so we can ensure this training will be available to you on the day.
Online pre-study requirements
Online study requires access to the following resources to complete the pre-study for this First Aid course:
- Computer
- Internet connection
- Recommended that either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are used
- Microsoft Edge does not currently support our pre study
Certification
Once a competent mark is awarded, learners will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID003 Provide first aid. This Unit of Competency is Nationally Recognised Training from Health Training Package.
Certificates are emailed to students however hard copy is available for additional fee.
